Johnson Marionettes has a rich history
Johnson Marionettes was created in 1939 by Ed Johnson, who performed for 44 years. After he retired in 1984 at the age of 66, his son, Gregory Johnson, continued the tradition of bringing Applesauce and Johnson Marionettes to Michigan schools, libraries, malls, museums and other assemblies of preschoolers through senior citizens.

In the mid-1950's, Johnson Marionettes became an integral part of Milky's Movie Party which appeared on television in southeastern Michigan. "The Willy Doit Show" starred Willie Doit, Applesauce, Gee Whizzer, Mollie and friends.

Johnson Marionettes has a repetoire of shows created over its 65 years of performances. Each year, Greg hits the road with one or two of them. If you would like to book a show for your organization, please email Greg with your request.
